Not all Bath Salts are created equal...

Holy Soft Bath Water Batman!

Have you ever wondered "why bath salts? and….how do I use them?" Well, before you decide to do a cannonball into your bathtub, lets talk about how our Bath Salts differ from regular table salt and what some of the benefits are.

We custom blend three different types of high quality, ultra fab salts in our Bath Salt mixture. Dead Sea Salt, sourced from the Southern Dead Sea in Israel, where the mineral content is the highest. The benefits of Dead Sea Salt are so numerous, I'm just going to give you guys the highlights.

You might be thinking that bath salts are only good for aromatherapy and water softening, but there are a whole host of physical and mental benefits as well. Dead Sea Salts contain 10 times more minerals than ordinary sea salt, minerals which assist in cleansing, detoxifying and restoring a healthy status quo to the body, especially the skin and muscles.

The second type of salt we use is Magnesium Sulfate, named for a bitter saline spring at Epsom in Surrey, England. I can go on and on about the benefits of Epsom Salt (and I probably will!) you guys need to know this, it's pretty amazing stuff!

Epsom Salt has been know for hundreds of years now for it's wondrousness, and unlike other salts, Epsom has beneficial properties that can soothe the body, mind and soul. Kinda like Prozac...without the prescription! Did you know that elevated stress levels drain your body of magnesium? By using Epsom salt in your warm bath your body is able to absorbs the magnesium which replenishes the level of magnesium in your body. The magnesium helps to produce serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain that creates a feeling of calm and relaxation. Whew! No wonder when my kiddos are driving me crizazy, I CRAVE a bath! Epsom salt also, relieves pain and muscle cramps, helps prevent hardening of the arteries, makes insulin more effective, ummm relieves constipation (ok, I probably could have left that out!) and eliminates toxins from the body.

The last type of salt we use in our Bath Salts is European Sea Salt, harvested from the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea. It's really cool how they obtain the salt from the water, they put the water into pans and allow it to evaporate in the sun. When all the water is gone, it leaves the salt chunks behind, which is crushed up into different sizes for different uses. One of the main differences between standard table salt and Sea Salt is the naturally occurring minerals are not removed during the refining process.

Like me, even if you're not a "bath" person, it sure couldn't hurt once in a while to sit back, relax and enjoy the benefits of a good Bath Salt soak!
