I was expecting a coffee scent, but was slightly disappointed when it had a touch of chocolate to it. I really dislike chocolate scents, so it was really over powering to me. Of course I don't think that makes it a bad product. It's just not for me. If you like mocha scents this would be great for you. I love the half bars, it's a great way to get to try a scent without having to spend as much on full shampoo and conditioner bars. I always cut my bars in half any ways so they are easy to hold. The shampoo and conditioner bars make my hair soft and smooth, I love them and only use FCS hair products.
SMELL: 1 star
I don’t get “coffee” from this at all. More like, someone’s making that instant stuff in another room & you just happen to catch a whiff of the powder through the ventilation.
LOOK: 5 stars
I like the colors. Mine were similar to the picture.
LASTING TIME: 4 stars
Because these are half-bars they obviously won’t last as long as their full-sized counterparts. I haven’t finished them yet, but I’m hoping for at *least* 20-30 washes.
DOES IT WORK? 4 stars
Shampoo— suds up easily & works into my hair well.
Conditioner— I find it difficult to tell how much conditioner I rub into my hair until I start rinsing it out, so sometimes I end up feeling like I used too much/little - it takes some practice. Otherwise, once dry, I love how soft if make my hair feel - not oily at all.
CONS:
I really wish it had a strong coffee smell, or even smelled like coffee to begin with.
The two items are separated in plastic bags inside a larger wax bag. I didn’t realize this since I didn’t use them right away. Even though they were in a dry area, they managed to collect moisture inside the plastic bags, which may have compromised the composition of the bars— especially the shampoo bar. causing it to feel softer, like it’ll break down quicker than normal with use.
This may or may not be my own fault/mistake, I’m not sure. But be wary of this, and/or if you decide to store them, separate them into their own wax bags.
